CO-EDUCATION OF PAKISTAN

Co-education means to educate boys and girls together in same classes by same teacher i.e. the joint system of education of boys and girls together is called co-education . If we trace back the pages of history we find that it was first introduced and adopted in Switzerland, but in modern times it has made a rapid progress. In western countries, U.S.A, France and England co-education is very common and popular. In imitation to west, the Asian countries also adopted this system but with the result not very encouraging.
Some people seem in favor of the system in Pakistan and some are totally against it. Both points of view are presented here under.

The supporters of Co-education believe that it creates a sense of competition between boys and girls and result in high standard of education. This system encouraged them to be neat and clean, smart and active. This system develops in both sexes a sort of mutual understanding and mutual respect. The supporters consider it as an advanced method of education equally beneficial for boys and girls. They become really educated and civilized. This system enables them to increase their knowledge and talent, the supporters say that co-education infuse in them the spirit of self confidence and self reliance. These arguments of the supporters of co-education look quite convincing at the first glance. But looking to the serious demerits put for ward by those who appose this modern system of co-education it becomes doubtful whether it suits our society as fairly as it does in the west. The opponents argue that it is destroyer of our moral values and creator of so many problems. They say that it is totally against our religion Islam. If both sexes are allowed to study together, this sort mixed withering will run the whole society. They say that the west has seen worst consequences of this system.
They say that co-education is not fit for our and must be discouraged because this system only encourages modern fashions, western dressing and western style of living. Through this system they will not become national heroes but heroes of films and plays. Therefore it is suggestive that this system must be abolished and it is unwise to introduce co-education system in the colleges and universities in Pakistan.

EDUCATION CRISIS OF PAKISTAN

In this world, education is considered to be the fundamental and main right for every person. In Pakistan, these days every person facing an intense and serious education crisis. The ground realities related to education in Pakistan are considered to be very stark as well as frightening.
According to survey that almost 25 million children in Pakistan are considered to be denied the right of going to school. If we talk about the condition of government schools then children who are studying in government schools then they are study in broken buildings and in these schools there are no teachers.
Moreover, according to the latest survey that only one-third children are enrolled in the private schools and getting education. Present situation of education in Pakistan is considered to be very disappointing as well as unprepared.

Moreover, it is very important and significant for federal as well as provincial government that both the government should work together in order to overcome an education crisis in Pakistan. According to the survey in 2011 that Pakistan spends 2.1 percent of the GDP on the field of education which is considered to be less as compared to India and Bangladesh.
In case of discussing the most serious as intense issue in Pakistan i-e education crisis we can say that the most important reason of the education crisis is that almost 80 percent of the budget related to the education field at the district level are normally spend on the concept of recurring costs especially in the area of salaries. Moreover, the most important problem that also arises the education arises is the availability of the lack of data or information on the school age population. In additionally, education crisis is also gets serious and intense because of the availability of the poor and incomplete information related to the functioning of the private sector. There is no proper check and balance regarding the total number of private schools in each province. It is very important and significant for the Pakistan government to adopt useful and essential measure in order to overcome the education crisis.
On the whole after discussing the most important and serious issue that is prevailing in Pakistan-e education crisis it is easy to conclude that education crisis is not considered to be an impossible task because every person knows that in Pakistan the talent is considered to be enormous.
By using the right and perfect set instructions as well as broad ownership crisis an education crisis can be resolved. It is considered to be the bold as well as important step in the long run if we want an educated Pakistan. In the final conclusion we can say that Pakistan can make progress if education crisis will be solved or overcome.

REASONS OF THE LOW EDUCATION OF PAKISTAN

Looking at the Demand Side of Education
Education around the globe is considered as the defining feature of economic and social development. Pakistan on the supply side has clearly behind in provision of adequate educational resources and consequently on the demand side has failed in creating a clear demand for education. However, it is important to realize that the problems which hinder the provision of education are not just of mismanagement by government but some of them are deeply rooted in the social and cultural orientation of the people. Overcoming the latter is difficult and would require a change in attitude of the people until then universal primary education is difficult to achieve. Many reasons could be attributed t it:
GENDER DISCRIMINATION
Major factors that hinder enrollment rates include opportunity cost, poverty, cultural constraints, illiteracy of parents and parental concerns about safety and mobility of their daughters. The economic benefits from schooling are particularly doubtful for girls as society approves of Pardah. Also since girls have a labor force participation rate of only 4.3% of total population the returns to education seems minimal. Female enrollment rates are low as schooling system is considered to have a bad impact on girl's character. Society's emphasis on girl's modesty, protection and early marriages may limit family's willingness to send them to school. Enrollment by rural girls is 45% lower than that by urban girls; while for boys the difference is of 10% only; showing that gender gap is another factor .There exists a positive relation between enrollment and household incomes. Recent studies have shown that income shocks (death of family member or animals) affect enrollments, with greater impact for girls.

COST OF EDUCATION
The cost of education is another determinant for parents to decide whether to send their children; to government schools, private schools or no schools. Cost of education has increased further due to increased inflation. Education a child in public schools costs twice to society as would cost in private school. Although private schools appear cheaper but government fees appear "free" to parents, however society bears the cost of learning is low is paying taxes. Society cost learning is lower in private schools, but private schools are located in richer settlement only. The paradox is that private schools are better but no everywhere and government’s schools ensure equitable access but do not provide quality education.
RETURNS TO EDUCATION- A MISCONCEPTION
The issue with non-achievement of primary education to all is due to the low enrollment rate coupled with very low retention rate; especially for girls. This could be due to scarcity of educated women nevertheless; women actually earn less than men because of lack of equal opportunities. Moreover returns to wage employment as well as returns to self-employment increase with the increasing years of misconception of education having negative returns to education for both genders. The implies the presence of misconception of education having negative returns due to the forgone income. Thus to improve the cynical condition of education in Pakistan no just provision of education has to focused upon by the government but problems of demand side of education needs to be addressed as well. Only then could there be a hope for higher enrollment rates accompanied with proper retention and low drop outs rate. Parents and society in general has to reshape its preference and thinking about education for the system to improve. And to supplement this government has to provide the resources along with diverse opportunity to provide proper returns to education. Equality of opportunities where returns of education could be compensated is the key to fix the demand side problems of education.

HOW TO IMPROVE EDUCATION SYSTEM OF PAKISTAN

Education is a fundamental human right.Pakistan is among those developing countries where people are mostly deprived of good quality education. In Pakistan, educational system doesn't meet the international standards. There should be some substantial amendments to make the educational system better in Pakistan.Education institutes are the resource centers for a nation. The worsening status of government schools in Pakistan needs to be reviewed immediately.People who belong who belong to the financially lower class send thier children to government schools. In most of the government schools, the faculty is incometent and children do not get the basic facilities.Government should implement considerable policies to appoint trained and sincere faculity and should offer them respectable salary.
Books should provided from the government fund. There should be a Zakat fund for the orphans or deserved students to carry on thier education. Rural areas should be on priority list to ameliorate the education system as most of them are even underprivileged of basic education.
Institutes should promote different scholarships. Fexible contract based International scholarships should be executed so that people serve their country well. Institutes should cater different areas to facilitate people. To improve the educational system in Pakistan, government should be actively involved in the policy making and should collaborate with other private institutes.

POOR EDUCATION SYSTEM OF PAKISTAN

According to media news Pakistan celebrated education and Malala day with the hope that the government will provide equal education opportunities for everyone. The government has also launched a four year literacy programme under which more than three milion children of poor families, especially girls, will get free education in Pakistan. Unfortunately, despite edclining graph of education syetem, the government is just doing cosmetic steps to satisfy people. Original condition of education are far from ideal in Pakistan. Recent statistics are showing grim picture of education sector in Pakistan. According to UNESCO, some seven milion children in Pakistan are out of primary schools in which 60 percent are girls. Only 20 percent of girls have completed primary level schooling in rural areas of Pakistan. Literacy rate of girls in Northern Pakistan is only six percent. Despite all of these challenges Pakistan spends less of its national budget on education than other small South Asian countries like Nepal, Maldives and Bhutan. True reality is that several western and UNO funded schools are just alive on papers and have no physical presence. Ghost schools and ghost teachers are true reality of Pakistan education sector.  The world community has promised to spend around one billion dollars to help Pakistan's poor education sector but most of the people in Pakistan rightly believe that everything is politically motivated and will not serve the purpose. Only corrupt elements of government will enjoy this money and education sector will not feel any comfort.
The true reality is that the biggest barrier to poor education in Pakistan is a lack of government interest and powerful feudal system in villages and poor areas. Political influence in education institutions is also a main cause of worse performance of education system in pakistan. Even public service commission examinations are not transparent and most of result are politicaly motivated. It seems true that due to increasing education expenditures and self-finance schemes, the government is limiting edcuation only for upper class people.Due to poverty, rising graph of unemployment and tough finacial conditions, thousands of children have been forced to leave their education and work inhuman conditions as a child labourers.

EDUCATION SYSTEM OF PAKISTAN

ISLAM also tells us about Education and its importance. The real essence of Education according to ISLAM is "to know ALLAH" but I think in our country we truly lost. Neither our schools nor our madrassa's (Islam Education Centres) are truly educating our youth in this regard. In schools, we are just preparing them for "Money". We aren't educating them we are just preparing "Money Machines". We are only increasing the burden of the books for our children and just enrolling them in a reputed, big school for what, just for social status??? On the other hand in our madrassas we are preparing peoples who finds very difficult to adjust in the modern society. Sometimes it seems that they are from another planet.A madrassa student can'tcompete even in our country then the World is so far from him. He finds difficult to even speake to a school boy. It is crystal clear that islamic Education is necessary for Musilims but it is also a fact that without modern education no one can complete in this world. There are many examples of Muslims Scholars who not only study the Holy QURAAN but also mastered the others subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy and many more, with the help of Holy QURAAN.I think with the current education system we are norrowing the way for our children are every talented, both in schools and in madrassas we just need to give them proper ways to groom, give them space to becaome Quaid-E-Azam Muhammaed Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal, Sir syed Ahmed Khan, Alberoni, Abnalhasam or Einstein, Newton, Thomas Edisaon.

Now lets talk about our policy Makers, it seems they are not working enough. Every year policy for Education is reviewed by the government but the risults are same...Illiteracy rate is going upwards in Pakistan according to recent survey. Somebody starting "Nai Roshni School" , somebody starting "Parha Likha Punjab" etc. for what to educate Pakistan? Well i don't think so. We should and we have to think about our children education now that are we educating them in the right way? If not what should we do? We have to act now otherwise it going to be too late for PAKISTAN..
